London Racing Club - Royal Ascot Preview

I'm gutted I'm missing this as the last two preview evenings have been great. Thought I'd share with everyone. The panel is Nick Smith (Ascot), Tony Calvin (Betfair), James Willoughby (RP/RUK/@prof_hindsight) with Angus McNae (RUK) chairing. Should be great. Only £5 for non members.

Twitter Silks

My go at the twittersilks. Twitter(ish) colours but tasteful.

I think officially described as Royal Blue with the Light Blue inverted chevrons, Royal Blue Sleeves with the Light Blue Armlets and a Royal Blue Cap (lot of air time!!).

So, Totesport Trophy day take 2

So, after the truly horrible scenes of last Saturday, Newbury (and all involved) have managed to get their card staged just 6 days later. Truly a credit to all involved and proving to the outside world (and indeed, more importantly to racing's "disfunctional family") that, when required, they can pull together.

The racing itself is slightly below par but still enough to distract attention from the real world for a considerable amount of time today...

The Totesport Trophy is one I believe is more open than most are giving credit for. You can make cases for 8 or 9 of these.

I think Walkon is the pick of the bunch and rightly favourite. He's done very little wrong and giving 19lb in being a 1/2length 2nd to Tiger O'Toole LTO was, in hindsight a very credible performance. He'd be my punt.
When looking for Each Way value though, I like the look of Rebel Dancer. Slightly unlucky when falling at the last in a decent one at Bangor and looks very nicely handicapped here.

Other picks for the day are Valentine Vic (12:10 NBY), Fair Along (12:45 NBY).

Enjoy!
